I’ve posted the outline as a separate page here. It is a very rough draft, but it’s at least a start.
I went with a traditional outline, which will serve, but I’m not 100% happy with it. It will surely get some serious tweaking as I continue working on it. It will be updated as comments come in.
The outline includes pointers to completed sections, but you can also access sections through the blog entries that introduced them.
Here is the first section of the book for early review. Feel free to use the comment link to let me know what you think.
Update: To make this post consistent with the style I’ll be using to publish other sections, I’ve moved this section to a new location and removed the text from this post. Here’s a link to the section, which is unchanged as of 12 Feb:
Over the next few days I’ll be getting familiar with WordPress and the overall structure of the blog. Then, I will begin posting material related to the book. I’m not yet sure what the best way to do that will be. My inclination is to embed sections into blog entries, then as chapters begin to form, create separate pages that contain the chapters in html (generated from DocBook) and pointers to pdf.
